Process technology
Production is based on the thermal method of silicon production in three-phase
heating furnaces. The quartzite from the Cheremshansk quartzite
mine serves as the raw material for production. This mine is the biggest and
highest quality quartzite deposit in Russia. Quartzite mining began in 1992.
The reserves exceed 45 mln tonnes, which will allow the mine to stay in
operation for 140 years. The annual output of the mine is more than
230,000 tonnes.
Certificates
Most of the production processes used by Ural Silicon were awarded ISO-9002
certification.
