SILICON
United Company RUSAL produces sufficient volume of silicon to supply its
downstream facilities with the required raw material - quartzite extracted from
the Cheremshnsk Quartzite Mine.
The Silicon Company is the largest producer of silicon metal and the only
producer of refined silicon in Russia. The quality control system employed at
the Silicon Company is certified to ISO 9001 Standard. The Finished Products
Quality Control System fully complies with the Russian GOST Standard.
Silicon Co. and Urals Silicon, the United Company’s silicon production
facilities, supply the marketplace with the following products in line with
GOST 2169-69:
Kr00 (Fe < 0.4%, Ca < 0.4%)
Kr0 (Fe < 0.5%, Ca < 0.4%)
Kr 1 (Fe < 0.7%, Ca < 0.6%)
Kr 2 (Fe < 1%, Ca < 0.8%)
Kr 3 (Fe < 1.5%, Ca < 1.5%)
The refining process allows Kremniy to produce 20 additional grades in full
compliance with the corresponding Technical Specification,
TU 48-0106-01-04:

Fe content is within the 0.3%-0.9% range;

Ca content varies from 0.01 to 0.4%.
